The 2044 Lake Huron hurricane season was an event where tropical cyclones formed in Lake Huron. The season began on June 15, 2044, and it ended on November 15, 2044, dates that mark the timeframe for tropical cyclogenesis.

Throughout the season, six tropical depressions developed, all of which became tropical storms; two of the tropical storms further intensified into hurricanes. However, none of the storms became major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale), a common occurence in Lake Huron.

The season's first storm, Hurricane Ariel, made landfall near Port Edward, Ontario as a Category 1 hurricane, causing four fatalities and $15 million (2044 USD) in losses. Several days later, Hurricane Belle, the season's most intense system, grazed the eastern coast of Lower Peninsula of Michigan, but it failed to cause any impact. Otherwise, none of the season's other storms affected land.

Seasonal summaryEdit

Wikipedia:Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale

With a total of six named storms, the 2044 Lake Huron hurricane season was near average. Of the storms that formed, three developed in August and another three existed in September. Two of the storms attained hurricane intensity, compared to the long-term average of three. In addition, the 2044 season was the fourth consecutive Lake Huron hurricane season that did not produce an intense (major) hurricane, partially due to a lack of satellite coverage during that time. All advisories on the season's cyclones were written by the Lake Huron Cyclone Warning Center (LHCWC).
